 I will never understand how we truly ended up on this earth and how there are other universes in the world. To me since we have little knowledge on this topic its hard for me to grasp the fact that we are so small compared to the rest of the world. Allongside of all of this, the concept of time is very confusing. I will never understand how the world works or how I am here at this time and not born in earlier years as a completly different person. Overall there are so many mysteries in the world that will remain forever unknown. I think these mysteries spark curiosity in people and makes everyone's individual existance so important. Summary: Today in class we found evidence that supported our main claim and used an example prompt analyzing it and taking out key information. Reflection: I learned that we are going to have to come up with strong claims fast and plan out the way we structure our evidence.  The most creative thing that I have ever made was a drawing of a turtle. I had to draw an animal for art class and I chose to draw a turtle. I think that it stands out from anything else I have done because it was fun to do and I liked the way it turned out. It was a simple project, but I liked that I could add details that matched how I saw fit and had creative freedom on how it was drawn. It was a project were I was actually happy with the final result. Summary: We analyzed a speech presented by Donald Trump and looked for Spacecat. Reflection: Analyzing the speech by Donald Trump helped me understand what to look for when you read similar texts. Using S.P.A.C.E.C.A.T also helped me organize my thoughts and remind me of everything I need to be able to see in the text.

 One thing that makes me different from other people is that I notice changes in social situations. I can usually tell when someones behavior changes even when others don't. This helps me understand people more when their mood changes or not, if their lying or are sad.  I also pay attention to small details in the way that people act. This helps me realize when someone is feeling differently. Summary: Today in class we had a quiz in Ap classroom. Refelection: This quiz helped provide a good layout of what the Ap test would look like. This also will help me become prepared and ready to take the real test at the end of the year.

 Living in Atlanta, Georgia has influenced the way I see my community because of the diversity of cultures and ethnicities and how everyone interacts with eachother. It helps me understand that the make up of a true community is living together in harmony whether your have different views or feelings about certain things that shouldn't affect the way you feel about others. If I were speaking to someone outside of Atlanta about my community I would tell them how Atlanta has deep culture and is very involved and connected to the rest of the world. I would also tell them that most people in Atlanta are unafraid to express there concerns and beliefs. Overall Atlanta is a very unique area because of its ethnic makeup and it allows you to experience different cultures in terms of music, art, and food.  A time where I felt completely lost was when I was at a volleyball tournament in a different state. I had to walk alone outside to find the convention center from my hotel and wasnt sure where it was. Once I finally found the convention center it was confusing inside and hard to find the correct court I was supposed to be on. The court was hidden in the corner far in the back amoung hundreds of other courts. I was young at the time and couldn't find the right court or my team. Eventually I found the court, but in that moment I felt completely lost. Summary: Today in class we completed a claim of policy assignment where we created a claim and listed the criteria for that claim. Reflection: I learned that you must have a strong list of criteria when making a claim of policy. This will help make sure my arguments are reasonable and supported, helping me create more plausable arguments and develope stronger claims.

 When I was little, I believed in the tooth fairy. As a kid, my mom would put money under my pillow every time I lost a tooth. I would wake up in the morning, check under my pillow, and see the the bright gold one dollar coin sitting there. It brought me so much excitment that I never questioned the tooth fairy not being real. I would collect and treasure the coins untill I got older and eventually realized that the tooth fairy wasn't real. I think that believing in small things like the tooth fairy, Santa, and more, as a kid really helped create a magical childhood. Summary: Today we talked more about arguments and discussed the three types of claims.   Reflection: This helped me better understand the difference between a claim and a statement of fact. Learning about claims of fact, value, and policy will help me build and structure a stronger argument and determine what someone elses main argument is.

 An argument that I wish I could have handled differently was when I disagreed with one of my group members and friends in Ap Seminar. I wanted them to understand what I was trying to get accross instead of truly listening to their idea. I was too set on the idea that mine was better. Looking back on it, I would listen more to their point of view instead of trying to force them to agree with my opinion. Now that I understand the aspects of making a good argument I would stimulate there emotions by making them feel like their idea is also well though out and good. Then I might change their opinion by showing them how my idea might work better for this specific assignment. Summary: Today in class we read a couple chapters of the book Thank You for Arguing and took notes. Reflection: This novel helped me think deeper into the idea of arguments and what you are actually aiming to accomplish with your audience. Recently I persuaded a friend to start a school club with me. I used logos to show them how it looks good from a college perspective and how it would be a good thing to include in applications for any summer internship programs. I also used pathos, appealling to their emotions, explaining how I don't want to start a club alone and that they would be an amazing co founder. I could have used ethos to show them that it would not have been a huge commitment and that I would contribute accordingly. For example I could show them that I am in other clubs and I understand how they work but I did'nt end up utilizing that appeal. The most effective appeal was logos because it convinced them that creating a club was worth the small effort in the long run and that it could provide extra information to stand out from other college applicants.  Summary: Today in class we looked at adds and political campaigns to determine whether they were ethos, pathos and logos. As I continue to grow older and face new experiences, I think that I will have to stand up for my political beliefs. The more I notice the unjust issues that occur in our world today, the more I realize the importance of researching and gathering evidence. This helps me better understand certain situations and allows me to create a well-informed opinions on important subjects. I feel like the topic on who to vote for comes up quite often whether students expressing their beliefs in a classroom or society discussing it in general. I hope to have a good argument with quality evidence for any debate that I may encounter. Summary: Today we took notes on what a good argument consists of as well as discussing the origins of our classmates names. Reflection: I learned that a good argument is an opinion supported by evidence and that there were three main parts of an argument. This will help me create structured and clear arguments that I can use in an essay.

 Three goals that I want to achieve this year are to avoid procrastinating work, finish this year with all A’s, and prepare myself for college. I struggle with being efficient and staying focused on tasks without getting distracted, which I hope to improve by planning ahead. I also hope to achieve good grades and maintain a good gpa. Preparing myself for college is a huge goal for me this year which includes getting a good score on the ACT or SAT.
