Talk about a time when you had to write a poem, whether it was for an assignment, event, or special occasion. What was the writing process like for you, and were you proud of the finished product?

The last time I have ever had to write a poem was in the 5th grade. The goal was to write a thoughtful poem for veterans day to honor our veterans. The proccess was hard because it took me a while to make things sound good and make my wording flow. I decided to start with organizing my thoughts on paper and then it became easier to come up with ideas. I think that overall I liked how my poem turned out I put a lot of thought into it and tried to make it meaningful. Once I gathered good ideas it was easy for me to write more lines and helped me write better in the future.

Summary: Today in class we analyzed poetry discussing the connectin of poets and acrobats.

Reflection: I learned that writing can sound like one thing but have a hidden deeper meaning behind it. Analyzng this poem helped me better understand figurative language and how authors use it to make their writing more complex.

With 4.5-week grades posting on September 2, reflect on your experience in AP Language so far. What has been going well for you, what has been challenging, and what is one thing you need to improve moving forward?

Think about a time when you made a claim or gave an opinion, but someone asked you, “Why?” or “How do you know?” Describe the situation. What evidence did you use to support your point, and why is explaining your evidence just as important as providing it?

Write about a fear you have overcome.
