After reviewing the feedback on your argument essay, identify one thing you did well and one area you need to improve. Explain what you will do differently the next time you write an AP Lang argument essay.

One thing that I did well on my argumentative essay was establishing a clear thesis and connecting most of my evidence back to my claims. One thing that I need to improve on is keeping my evidence specific and going more in depth on what I'm trying to say. Next time I write an AP Lang argumenitive essay I will make sure to keep all of my evidence specific and relevant to my topic. This will ensure that my argument stays strong. With the feedback I saw that in my second claim my reasoning got to broaden towards the end and the making it more specific would have earned me full points. When I was trying to earn the sophistication point I stated a clear counterclaim but should have went more in depth on my reasoning to earn that point. Next time I will make sure I take this feedback and apply it to my next essay.

Summary: Today in class we looked over our feedback on our argumentative essays and started working on our poem.

Reflection: I learned how to use figuritive language when I began writing my poem and learned how to improve on my essays. This will help me improve on my future argumentative essays and help me add figurative language to my writing style.

With 4.5-week grades posting on September 2, reflect on your experience in AP Language so far. What has been going well for you, what has been challenging, and what is one thing you need to improve moving forward?

Think about a time when you made a claim or gave an opinion, but someone asked you, “Why?” or “How do you know?” Describe the situation. What evidence did you use to support your point, and why is explaining your evidence just as important as providing it?

Write about a fear you have overcome.
